Broulis Beat Report: While The Weather Starts To Get Cold In Cleveland, Cavs Remain Hot

bad postnot very good postgood postvery good postgreat post (No Ratings Yet)

CANTON,Ohio- Need a break from the Browns? Well, look no further. The Cavs are here. And aside from a stumble in Indiana, which did not include LeBron or J.R. Smith. James was out just for rest purposes and Smith was dealing with an ankle injury. Time to review and preview.

Raptors vs Cavs-(Tuesday, Nov 15th, 2016)- So far, both games have lived up to expectations. But in this game it wasn’t just Lowry and DeRozan causing problems, but Terrence Ross, coming off the bench, went 4-7 from long distance and scoring 18 points. That almost cost Cleveland the game, but Channing Frye played a huge role helping Cleveland get a tough win. Frye went 5-8 from deep scoring 21 points. Cavaliers get a big win 121-117.

Cavs vs Pacers- (Wednesday, Nov 16th, 2016)- As mentioned earlier, No James or Smith. Yet, Cleveland still managed to stay close. The Cavaliers eventually fell to the Indiana Pacers 93-103. As I have stated a few times already. When the Pacers gel and start to play better as a team, I truly think they are the second best team in the league.

Pistons vs Cavs- (Friday, Nov 18th, 2016)- I must say I was expecting a lot closer of a contest than it was. Cleveland dominated Detroit 104-81. This was a big win from a standpoint of getting the starters rest in the fourth quarter. That allowed head coach Tyronn Lue to play the bench more. That helps keep the veterans that are not seeing much time stay ready and it allows the younger guys a chance to get some experience. Plus, it’s obviously a good win just because it’s a win within the division.

Trail Blazers vs Cavs-(Wednesday, Nov 23rd, 2016)- Last year, the Cavaliers allowed Portland to shoot 73 percent from the field in the first half. Portland has good young talent. Damian Lillard is one of the best point guards in the NBA. C.J. McCollum is a good back court mate for Lillard. If Cleveland can control the paint and slow down the back court, they should win this game.

Mavericks vs Cavs-(Friday, Nov 25th, 2016)- Thankfully for Dallas, they still have the Rangers in MLB and the Cowboys for the NFL. This Mavericks team has fell flat on it’s face. Dallas has some talent, but it’s pretty obvious that it’s time for them to trade away players at the trade deadline and start a rebuild. Cleveland has a great chance of winning this game.

Cavs vs 76ers-(Sunday, Nov 27th, 2016)- Don’t look now, but Philadelphia is playing with something they haven’t played with in a very long time. CONFIDENCE! In the first game, Philadelphia had a chance to beat Cleveland to earn their first win. I actually expect this game to be close. Joel Embiid is a future superstar in the NBA. Cleveland will have it’s hands full if Embiid has a big game.

I had no problem with Cleveland resting James in Indiana. I told a good friend of mine last week, I want James to be held to around 72 or 76 games. The way this team is built, they should be able to beat the “schedule fillers” as I like to call them. Or you can just say the bad teams of the league. This is all about having James ready for April, May and hopefully June.
