Cleveland, Ohio is a unique, rapidly growing city that provides some amazing opportunities to its residents. With world class food, art, theater and sports, this town has something for everyone. For the exercise enthusiast the downtown area provides great scenic biking and running routes. The lakefront at Edgewater Park is particularly beautiful in the summer time, and right outside the city, Cleveland boasts one of the largest park systems in the country that is perfect for walkers, bikers and runners.
As a resident of downtown Cleveland, I am always looking for new ways and places to continue my fitness journey. This past winter I was excited to discover free yoga Saturdays at the House of Blues. Each week features a different instructor from studios around the city that come to share their knowledge and promote wellness and fitness. Most recently, I had the opportunity to speak with a friend of mine who is entrenched in the fitness scene in Cleveland, and she told me I had to check out a boutique gym, FIT Cleveland, in the popular Ohio City, the micro brewery and foodie hotspot of Cleveland. Walking down the street it was easy to miss the modest window-front of FIT, owned by tri-athelete and fitness guru Kevin Smyth, but once I walked through the doors the energy was palpable. Kevin, owner and creator of FIT has poured his passion for fitness and wellness into this fitness studio, providing a progressive, comfortable, approachable environment that delivers guaranteed results.
The intense one on one and small group workout sessions are tailor made for members success and the results speak for themselves. After attending my first class, which was FREE, I will admit that I am now completely hooked. Its my new after work addiction that I cannot seem to get enough of. I have found the small group classes of 4-10 people are the best for me as I enjoy feeding off the energy of my fellow participants. Kevin makes the classes so much fun with his outgoing personality and the very intense workouts make the 45 minutes melt away. If you are tired of the large gym atmosphere or are looking from camaraderie and a team fitness experience, I encourage you to check out FIT Cleveland.
