CANTON,Ohio- Week three of the NFL season has already begun. I’ve been terrible when it comes to predicting Thursday night games, 0-2, and last week I only predicted 8 correctly. Let’s see if I can do better this week.
THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL-
Texans vs Patriots- My Pick (Patriots)- Winner (Patriots)- I know, you can say I’m cheating but no way would I pick against New England when they play at home with Belichick as head coach.
Cardinals vs Bills- This is a tough pick for me. Arizona is the better team. But would Buffalo actually start out 0-3? I’m taking the Bills in an upset.
Raiders vs Titans- Oakland was humbled by Atlanta last week. The Raiders are refocused and win on the road.
Redskins vs Giants- New York hands Washington their third straight loss.
Ravens vs Jaguars- Another tough pick for me. Jacksonville has disappointed me this year and the Ravens haven’t played to their capability. I’ll go with Baltimore.
Lions vs Packers- Believe it or not, this is a tough pick for me. Detroit shocked me with their win at the Colts. Green Bay isn’t playing as well as I anticipated. I’ll take the Packers.
Broncos vs Bengals- Something tells me that a change in venue will send Denver to their first loss.
Vikings vs Panthers- Carolina hands Minnesota their first loss of the season.
Rams vs Buccaneers- Tampa Bay was another young team to be humbled last week. I think they win big at home.
49ers vs Seahawks- Seattle wins this NFC West battle.
Jets vs Chiefs- Arrowhead is the Chiefs kingdom right? Yes, but a close win over New York.
Chargers vs Colts- San Diego has overachieved so far. They lost Danny Woodhead and Stevie Johnson. The Colts get their first win of 2016.
Steelers vs Eagles- From a record stand point, this should be a good match up but I’m nowhere near a believer that Philadelphia is all of the sudden a playoff bound team. I’m also not sold on Wentz. Pittsburgh will move to 3-0.
Bears vs Cowboys- Who’s worse? No, not between the Bears and Cowboys but the Browns and Bears? Dallas runs all over Chicago.
Falcons vs Saints- The “Dirty Bird” wins in the big easy.
Browns vs Dolphins- Cleveland is on it’s third string quarterback and 26th starting QB since their return in 1999. How sad is that. Does Terrelle Pryor come in after Kessler gets injured in this game?
OK, all none kidding aside. Because yes, I could really see that happening Sunday. I just can’t see Cleveland getting their first win on the road. Maybe I’ll be wrong but the Browns have too many injuries. I just found out today that Cleveland signed kicker Cody Parkey and placed Patrick Murray on IR.
How much worse will it get for the Browns in 2016? Cleveland isn’t even to week five yet.
So in case you haven’t figured it out by now, I’m taking Miami in the battle of 0-2 teams.
By the way, over or under 45,000 fans in attendance at the new Hard Rock stadium? The Dolphins, like the Hurricanes, fail to attract fans.
