CANTON,Ohio- The Cleveland Cavaliers are off until Tuesday night. It’s a good thing. They’re going to be challenged this week. Let’s get right to it.
Lakers vs Cavs-(Saturday, Dec 17th, 2016)- Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson, Nick Young and Brandon Ingram came to play. Once they get a little more experience and get a top notch super star, Los Angles will be contenders. Cleveland had to hit some big shots and get key rebounds down the stretch late in the 4th quarter to earn this win. The Lakers simply wouldn’t go away. L.A. has a bright future.
PREVIEW- Cleveland Cavaliers record entering this week- (19-6). Home-(13-2)- Road-(6-4).
Don’t look now, but Cleveland has another home and away back to back.
Cavs vs Bucks(13-12)- (Tuesday, Dec 20th, 2016)- Perhaps Cleveland won’t get blown out by 20 like they did in the first meeting. Coming into this game off two days of rest will help. But Milwaukee plays good at home(9-6). This should be a fun game to watch.
Bucks vs Cavs- (Wednesday, Dec 21st, 2016)- Cleveland plays at home on my birthday. Think they can get a win for me?
Nets(7-18) vs Cavs- (Friday, Dec 23rd, 2016)- Brook Lopez is the only player on this Brooklyn roster that I wish Cleveland had. I’ve always liked Brook Lopez. The Nets are 1-11 on the road. Cleveland will try to avoid having a let down game performance here.
Warriors(24-4) vs Cavs-(Sunday, Dec 25th, 2016)- Well, first off, happy Holidays to everyone out there and there families and friends.
It’s a rematch of the 2016 NBA finals. Quite possibly a preview of the 2017 NBA finals. But there’s still a lot of basketball to be played and lots of cold weather to deal with, depending on where you live.
While the media may say there’s a lot riding on this game, maybe it’s a statement game. I can’t say as though I feel the same. Last year, Golden State swept Cleveland, including that loss at the Q in Cleveland when the Warriors made the Cavs look like it was an NBA team vs a bad D-league team. We all seen how the season ended. I just don’t put a lot into games like this so early in the season.
I’m sure Golden State would like to win this game just to get some of the bad taste out of their mouths from that game 7 loss on their own floor last June. I really don’t know what to expect in this game. But I’ll be watching.
To start the season, it seemed Kevin Love only did most of his damage in the first half. Now he’s calling for the ball in the post more often. And now, he’s hitting shots more often in the second half of games. It was reported that Love add some muscle when he first reported for training camp. That was needed for Love. It helps out with the beating his body takes down in the paint, it allows him to push defenders further into the post and when he’s defending in the paint, it makes it more difficult for his opponent to back him down.
I know I’ve said before in past Cavalier articles, but Kevin just looks so much more comfortable now.
