CANTON,Ohio- It’s the middle of February and we are Two and a half months away from the NFL draft so I’ve had a lot of time to think about all the possibilities for the Browns specifically with the #2 selection in the draft.
Jared Goff- QB- California: I know a lot of you might be thinking I’m crazy for having Cleveland take yet another chance on a quarterback so high in the draft. It’s not that I am demanding they take Goff but I’ve watched a good amount of footage on him and he’s got the size, mobility but also the accuracy and arm strength. So what I’m saying to you is I won’t be mad if they do select Jared Goff with the Second pick.
Joey Bosa- DE- Ohio State: I’m not even sure if Bosa will be available at Two but the Browns are in desperate need of a pass rusher and sooner rather than later I feel Bosa would start to demand double teams to protect the opposing teams QB. My only problem with Bosa is you can’t have him drop into coverage.
Carson Wentz- QB- North Dakota State: The first thing I want to make perfectly clear is I do not care that he comes from a division 2 school and has played against lower level talent. I think that’s overrated. I have Wentz on the same level as Goff. He’s actually a little better with his feet in my opinion but he’s got everything else.
DeForest Buckner- DE- Oregon: The Browns, as I said about Bosa, sorely need pass rushers. Buckner would give them that if they can’t get Bosa.
Those are the names that come to the top of my mind. Again I’m not saying they have to take a QB at 2 but those names are the names I’ll be keeping an eye on in the coming week leading up to draft. night.
My problem is the Browns need so much. They need to go after 1 or 2 free agents but the draft must be a success. Cleveland needs a QB, RB, WR, DL, OL, CB, 2 LB’s and a safety. Other than that we are definitely a contender.
