CANTON, Ohio- The AFC South is likely to be a three-team race.

LAST PLACE-

Jacksonville Jaguars- (Home Stadium- EverBank Field)- (2016 record: 3-13)- (My 2017 Prediction: 2-14)

OFFENSE: So far, Blake Bortles isn’t working out at QB for the Jaguars and neither is Chad Henne, so it looks like it doesn’t matter who’s the quarterback. Jacksonville has plenty of offensive weapons with Allen Robinson, Marqise Lee, Dede Westbrook and Marcedes Lewis for receivers. They drafted Leonard Fournette at RB and Chris Ivory is his backup.

DEFENSE: Again, there’s definitely talent here. Malik Jackson, Calais Campbell on the line, Paul Posluszny and Myles Jack behind them and Jalen Ramsey, Barry Church, and AJ Bouye in the secondary.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS FINAL THOUGHTS- This team has underachieved for two straight seasons. This is a make or break year for Bortles. If they can get a good QB on this team, that’s when Jacksonville will get rolling.

THIRD PLACE-

Tennessee Titans- (Home Stadium- Nissan Stadium)- (2016 record: 9-7)- (My 2017 Prediction: 6-10)

OFFENSE: The Titans are led by QB Marcus Mariota and shouldn’t have much of a problem scoring. WR’s such as Rishard Matthews, Corey Davis, Delanie Walker, Eric Decker and Taywan Taylor. In the back field is DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry.

DEFENSE: I think Tennessee will have problems on this side of the ball. Not many player makers here.

TENNESSEE TITANS FINALS THOUGHTS- A couple months ago I was higher on the Titans, but after looking at their schedule and their defense, they better be able to outscore the opposition.

SECOND PLACE-

Indianapolis Colts- (Home Stadium- Lucas Oil Stadium)- (2016 record: 9-7)- (My 2017 Prediction: 10-6)

OFFENSE: As long as Scott Tolzien isn’t running the offense, Indy should be good. The receivers are Donte Moncrief, TY Hilton, Kamar Aiken and Jack Doyle. I also still think Frank Gore is a good RB.

DEFENSE: The Colts front seven features Johnathan Hankins, John Simon and Jabaal Sheard. The secondary has a few play makers in Darius Butler and Vontae Davis. The Colts are hoping to get a good rookie year from Malik Hooker as well.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS FINAL THOUGHTS- If Luck can get back and stay healthy or newly acquired Jacoby Brissett can run the offense and the defense can finally be good consistently, the Colts could give Houston a run for the South.

AFC SOUTH CHAMPION-

Houston Texans- (Home Stadium- NRG Stadium)- (2016 record: 9-7)- (My 2017 Prediction: 10-6- Houston wins the South due to a tie-breaker with Colts after beating Colts both times)

OFFENSE: They have Tom Savage as the starter, give me a break. Just stick Deshaun Watson in there and let his player-makers help him look good. DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller and CJ Fiedorowicz on the outside. Lamar Miller and Alfred Blue in the backfield.

DEFENSE: JJ Watt is back and healthy. He leads a strong defensive unit followed by Jadeveon Clowney, Whitney Mercilus, Brian Cushing, Jonathan Joseph and Kevin Johnson.

HOUSTON TEXANS FINAL THOUGHTS- I think Houston should just allow Watson to learn and grow this year and allow the defense to make plays and let the offensive play-makers help out Watson.

AFC SOUTH REVIEW-  I’ve given up on Jacksonville as you can see. The Titans still could surprise me, but I don’t look for it. The Colts could be very dangerous if they get a quality QB under center and keep him protected and Houston just has to help Watson not screw up too many times.
